Welcome!

Well, if you know me at all, I suppose this comes as no surprise! Then again, maybe it does, because it has taken me so long to do something about it! Anyway, my hope for this space is to be a place for all my creative outlets- making the 'everyday' special. I love to cook, to sew, to scrapbook, to photograph wonderful people & things (most especially my children), and to engage in anything that is a creative challenge. For years, I have heard that I need to 'do something' with my talents. For years, I have always felt that there were a million people who can do what I do, and just as well (or better!). So, what makes me so special?? Well, I put my heart and soul in everything I do, I take care to put thought and meaning into my creations, and I gather inspiration from the world around me. I adore my family. They are my biggest inspiration. My Magnum Opus. Without them, their unending love & support, I would not even be a fraction of who I am today. My sexy, supportive, hard-working husband encourages me in whatever my current passion is, and never once has acted like I am nuts for doing something.(even though I might have!) My babies put up with craft supplies everywhere, my camera constantly pointed in their direction, and new clothes or accessories for them to try on- and have almost never complained! :) I have never really had any formal training, unless you count the saint-like patience of my dear Grandma, who raised me, and taught me the fundamentals of what it takes to make a house truly a home. She showed me how to garden, cook, sew, craft, and love unconditionally. My dad was also an important part of my childhood. He, like my Gram, showed patience & unconditional love. He showed me the importance of caring for your home, your things, your family. He definitely went out of his way to make the everyday special. We would make up special recipes (and name them), he showed by example how being very detail oriented you can make extraordinary creations(his trains were amazing), and he had me truly believing there IS a Santa Claus (sadly, well into my teens). And my sweet friends(and sister, and mother-in-law). Who have sometimes been given things made by my two hands- sometimes lovely, sometimes not so lovely, but have always been full of compliments & never ever have discouraged me from trying again! (thank you, thank you, thank you ALL!)

So, here it goes. I am taking the plunge. We'll see what happens next.....
